Preliminary round

  • Equity research report of up to 5 pages, plus an appendix of up to 5 pages. The cover page is not counted.
  • Three-statement financial model in Excel, with its key figures and charts in your report.
  • The top 6 teams are announced by 12:00PM on 1 Nov.

Grand Finals

  • Pitch deck of up to 10 slides, excluding the appendix.
  • 10-minute presentation, then 8 minutes of Q&A with the judging panel.
  • Every team member attends in person at NTU on 12 Nov.

Preliminary reports are scored on six areas, with investment theses carrying the most weight, so lead with your variant view. Finalists then pitch to a judging panel from SemiAnalysis and NTU.

Questions

Who can take part?

Teams of 1 to 4 undergraduates. Every team member must be enrolled at a Singapore university (NUS, NTU, SMU, SUSS, SUTD, SIT or SIM). Teams can mix universities, but teams with members from overseas universities are not eligible.

Do I need stock pitching experience?

No. Undergraduates from any year or course are welcome.

Which companies can we pitch?

Any publicly traded company in the AI or semiconductor ecosystem with a market capitalization of at least US$500 million, listed on a U.S. or Asian stock exchange. See The pitch above for the full prompt.

Can we recommend a hold or neutral position?

No. Every team recommends either a long or a short position with an investment horizon of up to one year.

What do we submit?

Preliminary round: an equity research report of up to 5 pages, an appendix of up to 5 pages and a three-statement Excel model, due 18 Oct at 11:59PM.

Grand Finals: a pitch deck of up to 10 slides, excluding the appendix, due 8 Nov at 11:59PM.

Must all team members attend the Grand Finals?

Yes. All members of finalist teams must attend in person at NTU on Thursday, 12 Nov.
